Mini Sentinel Waste Water Remediation Plant

The WMEC aqueous effluent treatment system offers one of the most versatile answers to many difficult organic and inorganic pollution control problems for the small or medium sized site. The Sentinel mini combines four effluent treatment processes in one.

  • pH adjustment and precipitation
  • flocculation
  • activated carbon treatment
  • sludge handling

It is easy to operate, compact and arrives on site factory assembled and tested. Designed for batch operation, the Sentinel Mini treats batches of 450 litres. The treatment time depends on the type of waste treated but is usually about 4 hours. This is determined largely by the flow rate through the Activated Carbon cartridges, which remove the final traces of most contaminants.

Benefits of the Sentinel Mini include:

  • Dramatic waste minimisation at source
  • Treatment produces water suitable for discharge or reuse. The plant is particularly suited for the treatment of highly toxic organic contaminants and heavy metals.
  • The small quantities of sludge produced can be disposed of safely & economically
  • Suitable for the smaller site; low space requirement, highly economical
  • Reduces possibility of pollution fines and in the worst case - close down. The Sentinel enjoys wide official recognition for effectively treating many environmental hazards.
  • Simple to operate

Capability

The WMEC Mini is suitable for the removal of a wide range of organic and inorganic aqueous pollutants including heavy metals. Its combination of optimised flocculation with activated carbon treatment is designed to handle a wide variety of contaminants and reduce them to very low concentration.

Independent trials show that organic substances up to a maximum concentration of 3% can be effectively removed from water by the standard pre-packaged treatment process to levels which are usually below the limits of detection of HPLC or GLC analysis. This includes many well known toxic contaminants such as pesticides or “Red List” industrial pollutants. Dangerous heavy metals such as Copper, Cadmium or Chromium may normally be removed to levels well below those permitted for discharge into public sewers.

The resulting treated water may be re-used for purposes such as washing equipment, containers, plant or working areas. Alternatively it may be disposed of by soil surface irrigation or to the public sewer although in both cases the prior approval of the relevant authorities should be sought.
