WMEC pH Correction

Among the most frequent problems in treating industrial waste water before re-use, discharge to the public sewer or water course is pH control.

In most cases the output water is required to be approximately neutral, i.e. between pH values of 6 and 8. Measuring the pH and adjusting it by adding acid or alkali to correct the pH to the desired level can be both labour intensive and inaccurate when performed manually.

For processes generating regular flows of acidic or alkaline waste water, WMEC have developed the pH-Guard fully automated in line pH controller.

The WMEC pH-Guard is a compact and space saving alternative, as it is an "in-line" process with the water being treated passing totally through the unit with no intermediate reaction vessels. The WMEC pH-Guard is also capable of treating waters with significant levels of suspended solids. The WMEC pH-Guard is fully automated and designed for 24 hour a day unattended operation with dosing of both acid and alkali to neutralise almost all incoming pH conditions to within close tolerances at loads of up to 2,000 l min-1 water including varying and intermittent flows.

The WMEC pH-Guard draws its chemicals directly from standard IBC's or permanent feed tanks. As a safety measure, independent flow and pH alarm circuits are present to shut off discharge or chemicals automatically. As with all WMEC plants, the pH-Guard is built using high quality chemically resistant materials and components.

All WMEC environmental plants are specified for each individual application following detailed site assessments and any necessary trials. The pH Guard, using this method, is configured from standard modules to meet the exact local requirements for the most economic cost.

WMEC can supply all related ancillary plant, such as holding tanks, feed and discharge pumps as part of its design and installation service.
