WMEC Flocculation Units |

WMEC Flocculation units (Majors) use optimised flocculation to treat waste water and are able to process a wide variety of waste streams in an easy to control, space saving engineering package. Although the basic modules of the Major Flocculation units (Majors) share the same design concept with the smaller members of the flocculation range, each plant is custom designed to make the best use of available space and meet the precise requirements of the user. Our Majors can process considerable throughputs, up to 25,000 litres per hour with a fully automated duplex reactor. Majors are normally installed with automated process controls and chemical storage and dosing systems. Capability The Major suitable for the removal of a wide range of organic and inorganic aqueous pollutants including heavy metals. Independent trials and many successful installations show that organic substances up to a maximum concentration of 3% can be effectively removed from water by the standard pre-packaged treatment process to levels acceptable for discharge to sewer. Contaminants may also include heavy metals such as Copper, Cadmium or Chromium. The resulting treated water may be re-used for purposes such as washing equipment, containers, plant or working areas. Alternatively it may be disposed of by soil surface irrigation or to the public sewer although in both cases the prior approval of the relevant authority is essential. In our experience this is always forthcoming. The small quantities of solid dried sludge can be safely stored until sufficient has accumulated for disposal via a licensed waste disposal contractor. The Major will handle all wastes normally treatable by flocculation. The Major is particularly suited for higher volume waste flows and will be of most interest to plants generating over 1m / hour of contaminated waste water. Majors are currently installed for the following applications:-
