Machine type:

pH Correction

Client sector:

Consumables/food

Company:

A world-leader in the food industry, this company have been producing some of Britain’s finest soups, preserves, condiments, pour over sauces, fruit specialties and a wide range of other fine quality food products since 1868.

Issue:

With the increase in product range variety the waste produced from the CIP (Cleaning in Process) caustic wash process impacted the disposal pH. This pH was often above the discharge level as well as occasionally being below the pH discharge level.
Like many companies of this type the volume of waste produced during the day has many peaks and troughs.

Resolution:

The customers current transferred system was piped through an inline coarse dosing system into a mix tank. The tank also had a further pH adjustment system for finer tuning.
The waste is then passed over a run down screen and into a third and final test and check tank prior to drain discharge. The customer treats up to 40,000 litres per hour/300,000 litres per day.

Impact:

Meeting the drain discharge pH requirements.
