History and Ownership of WMEC
WMEC Limited (“Waste Management and Environmental Care”) was founded in 1994 by the two current directors. The company acquired the Sentinel waste water treatment business from E Allman & Co, who had developed the system in conjunction with ICI Agrochemicals for the treatment of waste herbicides and pesticides.
Over its recent history, WMEC has added a number of different treatment systems to its range and has developed an extensive portfolio of after sales services. The comprehensive range of treatment systems now available has enabled the company to expand from its traditional agrochemical market to a wide range of industrial and food processing businesses based throughout the UK and the world.
As leading waste effluent problem solvers, WMEC offers a very comprehensive service specifically designed to effectively, safely and economically treat a wide range of industrial and agricultural waste effluents.

Management
The Managing Director, Ken Hiscock, has unparalleled experience in the design and production of engineering products for the waste water and chemical industries. He has been involved in the development of the Sentinel system from the beginning and is a member of several industry association bodies.
The company has recently expanded its operations and facilities near Chichester in West Sussex, where engineering and plant assembly activities are based. In addition to an experienced system design and production management team, WMEC has recently added to its fully trained team of fitter/engineers and has comprehensive after sales and business support services team.
Current Situation
The original Sentinel system has, as originally believed it would, proved to be particularly suitable for small to medium sized industrial sites and needs, in addition to the agrochemical market where it is well known and established. In addition, a very extensive database of successful treatment test results and solutions has now been built up and provides a wealth of experience across a range of industrial processes.
WMEC’s customer base has grown very significantly in the UK as well as with a number of established multinational chemical companies and international organisations. It is against this background that the company is currently expanding its distributor network in mainland Europe and to other World markets where appropriate sales, marketing and engineering support is available.
Although still a relatively young company, WMEC’s knowledge, skills, products and track record, already mean that it is viewed by small and multinational customers alike as a leading waste effluent problem solver.
